DR. Sheila Hassell Hughes
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sheila Hassell Hughes, PhD, as Chief Executive Officer of Human Energy, succeeding our late founder Ben Kacyra. Dr. Hughes had the privilege of working closely with Mr. Kacyra over the past seven years - a visionary entrepreneur passionate about bringing awareness to human collective consciousness.
Effective Feb. 1, 2025, Dr. Hughes transitioned from her former role as Chief Operating Officer to lead the organization in its critical mission of advancing new knowledge about the evolution of collective consciousness, through interdisciplinary research, educational programs, and compelling media and events.
Leadership and Future Vision
A cornerstone of Human Energy's mission is providing a scientifically grounded optimistic vision for younger generations facing unprecedented personal and global challenges. Dr. Hughes is uniquely positioned to lead this work as an interdisciplinary scholar, educator, and educational researcher.
"Our work is fundamentally about realizing the great promise of our collective potential," said Dr. Hughes. "It’s so motivating for us all to be able to offer younger generations, especially, a grounded sense of purpose and a compelling path forward in an increasingly complex world." Dr. Hughes recently established the organization’s Youth Advisory Board to bring important new perspectives to this work.
